Real solutions to medically related hair
loss for men, women and children.
NO GLUE, TAPE OR
ADHESIVES!
UNDETECTABLE.
Trichological Associates provides a variety of options for
men, women and children experiencing
medically related hair loss as a result of
Chemotherapy, Thyroid, or other medical
disorders and treatments.
As you aware, chemotherapy, and other cancer treatments
such as radiation,
works because they kill rapidly dividing
cells. Because hair grows relatively fast,
these cells are attacked and the one's hair
growth temporarily is stopped. Now that new
anti-nausiant drugs are available to
patients, many people living with cancer
treatment are able to work and play almost
like normal, except for the hair loss. The
hair loss brings a loss of privacy and
self-image that many find harder to deal
with than the actual treatment. For this
situation we recommend that you choose from
our stylish “Illusion Line” of full
cranial medical prosthesis.

Getting
Your Health Insurance to Cover the Cost of Your Unit
When you loss your
hair due to medical reasons such as chemotherapy,
alopecia, Trichotillomania, or other medical
conditions, when requesting a prescription from your
physician, the full cranial prosthesis should then
be covered under most medical insurance policies.
Most insurance companies will cover between 80-100%
cost for your full cranial prosthesis. Your hair
prosthesis may also be a tax deductible medical
expense.
Steps to Follow:
Call Your Health
Insurance Provider and check the coverage on
your policy to see if it covers a "full cranial
prosthesis" for medical hair loss.
If it is covered,
ask them to explain their procedure for
obtaining payment for the full cranial
prosthesis
IMPORTANT:
We DO NOT process insurance claims nor accept
prescriptions
Some insurance
companies will require you to pay upfront and
then be reimbursed, others will pay for your
prosthesis upfront.
Request your
physician to write a prescription for a full
cranial prosthesis
Keep copies of
all of your documentation and invoices for tax
exempt purposes
Follow the
instructions that you were given by your health
insurance provider to submit the prescription so
that you can obtain payment.
